Raid and Dungeon Guides: Directions for Every Game (2026)

A dungeon is a shorter instance for a small group, usually three to five players, that you can run many times a week. A raid is a larger, harder instance for a bigger group, often eight to twenty-five players, with tougher bosses, weekly loot limits and the best gear in the game. Some games use other names, such as trials in The Elder Scrolls Online or expeditions in AION 2; each guide on this page explains what the game calls them.

Start with the facts table to check group size, the unlock and the minimum item level or power. Then follow the numbered unlock steps to reach the entrance or queue, prepare the gear and roles listed, and read the encounter-by-encounter overview before you pull. Pick the easiest difficulty of the current raid tier in your game, such as Raid Finder or Normal in World of Warcraft, or Normal Savage-tier fights in Final Fantasy XIV after the Extreme trials. Older raids are good practice too. Each guide lists the minimum gear level, so check you meet it, bring the recommended consumables and watch for the one or two mechanics the guide says cause most wipes.
