The OSRS Fractured Archive is a new boss-rush raid that Jagex set for October 20, 2026, joining Chambers of Xeric, Theatre of Blood and Tombs of Amascut. Permanent Hardcore worlds follow on November 4, 2026. To get ready, push your combat stats, gear and capes now, because the raid expects high-level setups.

What is new in Old School RuneScape this fall?

Jagex used RuneFest in early October 2026 to lay out the rest of the year. Two updates stand out for anyone who plays end-game content: a fourth raid called the Fractured Archive, and permanent Hardcore worlds. Both arrive within a few weeks of each other, so the next two months are a good time to get an account in shape.

They land on top of Sailing, the first brand-new skill in years, which launched on November 19, 2025 and still drives a lot of training and quest demand. The facts below are as of October 2026 and come from Jagex announcements and the official wiki.

Update Date Who it is for
The Fractured Archive raid October 20, 2026 High-level PvM players and raid groups
Permanent Hardcore worlds November 4, 2026 Players who want one-life challenge play
Sailing (skill) Live since November 19, 2025 Everyone: training, quests and new areas

What is the OSRS Fractured Archive raid?

The Fractured Archive is a boss-rush raid. Jagex has described it in the style of Theatre of Blood, with fights back to back and no puzzle or skilling rooms in between. That makes it a pure test of gear, prayer and mechanics.

The planned rewards include new weapons and an untradeable teleport item, but every raid drop in OSRS is random. Nobody can promise you a specific unique, however many runs you do. What you can control is how ready you are: a good setup shortens learning time and saves supplies.

  • Bring max or near-max melee, ranged and magic gear if you have it.
  • Expect to learn each boss across several runs; early kill count is about learning, not loot.
  • If you are new to raids, practise in Chambers of Xeric or Tombs of Amascut at a low invocation first.

How will OSRS Hardcore worlds work?

Hardcore worlds are separate servers where each character gets one life. If you die there, you can start over or move to a standard world and keep your progress, minus the items lost on death. They sit alongside Hardcore Ironman rather than replacing it.

The appeal is the tension of a single life on a fresh, level playing field. Because everyone starts from scratch, there is nothing to buy that helps you there except your own skill, which is why coaching is the only service we recommend for those worlds.

Where does Sailing fit in a year later?

Sailing still shapes how people train. New ports, sea routes and quests keep adding reasons to raise it, and plenty of players want the early levels done so they can reach the content they care about. If you are short on time, splitting your goals helps: train Sailing yourself during quieter weeks and save your focus for PvM when the raid arrives.

Which capes should you get before the new raid?

The most-wanted PvM unlocks have not changed: the Fire Cape from the TzHaar Fight Caves, the Infernal Cape from the Inferno and Dizana's Quiver from the Fortis Colosseum. Each one raises your damage in a way that carries into every boss, including the Fractured Archive.

The Fire Cape is the natural first step and a good test of prayer switching against Jad. The Infernal Cape and the Quiver are long, punishing attempts where one mistake can end a run, so time and nerves matter as much as stats. Our Fire Cape guide walks through the setup in detail.

What does OSRS help cost?

Honest risk note: Jagex's Code of Conduct bans sharing or lending your account and counts buying services like training and quests as real-world trading, with penalties up to a permanent ban. Every boost carries that risk, so choose with it in mind. Self-play and coaching keep your login with you and carry less risk than piloted orders. Read our account safety notice before you order. We never sell OSRS gold, bonds, items, accounts or bot/macro training. Rare drops, pets and leaderboard spots are never guaranteed.

How does a OSRS order work?

Every order follows the same steps, laid out in full on our how it works page:

  1. Pick your service. Choose the option on the product page or ask Boost Up AI which one fits your goal.
  2. Pay at checkout. The price is fixed and shown before you pay. You never type a game password at checkout.
  3. Add details on your order page. Self-play orders just agree a time in the order chat. Piloted orders add the login on the private order page, where it is encrypted.
  4. Follow every session. A booster approved for this game posts screenshots and updates after each session.
  5. Finished and locked. The job locks when it is done, the booster loses access, and any saved login is deleted within 72 hours.

OSRS FAQ

When does the Fractured Archive raid come out?

Jagex set the Fractured Archive for October 20, 2026. It is a boss-rush raid in the style of Theatre of Blood, with no puzzle or skilling rooms. It needs high-level gear and stats. Rewards on the planned list include new weapons and an untradeable teleport item, but drops are random and never promised by anyone.

What are OSRS Hardcore worlds?

Jagex announced permanent Hardcore worlds for November 4, 2026. They are separate servers where each character has one life. If you die, you can start over or move to a standard world and keep your progress, minus the items lost on death. They are a new way to play, not a replacement for Hardcore Ironman.

How long does an Infernal Cape take?

Most Infernal Cape orders finish in two to five days. The Inferno is long, and a failed attempt means starting again, so time depends on your stats and gear. We check your setup before we start and tell you what you still need. Good gear makes runs shorter and safer for your supplies.

Is buying an OSRS boost against the rules?

Yes. Jagex's Code of Conduct counts paid services such as training and quests as real-world trading, and it bans sharing your account. Penalties go up to a permanent ban. We play by hand with no bots, but the rule still applies. Coaching is the only option that does not involve someone else playing your account.

Do you sell OSRS gold or items?

No. We never sell gold, bonds, items or accounts. Our services are play-time only: capes, quests, diaries, raids, skill training and coaching. Any items you earn come from playing the content on your account, and rare drops are never promised because drop rates are random.
