Destiny 2 is a first-person shooter with RPG systems. You play a Guardian, choosing one of three classes: Titan, Hunter or Warlock. You explore planets, run missions with friends and chase weapons and armor with better perks. The game mixes cooperative PvE content with competitive PvP in the Crucible.

Bungie announced on May 21, 2026 that active development would end. The last live-service content update, Monument of Triumph, arrived on June 9, 2026. It brought back the Director as the activity hub, made Pantheon and Sparrow Racing League permanent, moved Gambit into Ops and updated older raid and dungeon gear. Bungie says the game will remain playable, so the activities you see now are essentially the ones that will stay. Our Destiny 2 boosting page covers our services in detail.

What is the objective of Destiny 2?

The big goal is to grow your Guardian. You finish campaigns, raise your power, build loadouts around exotic gear and earn titles for tough achievements. Endgame players chase raid weapons, a Flawless run in Trials of Osiris and clears on higher difficulty settings.

Each activity has its own goal. A mission or strike ends when you beat its final boss. A raid is a chain of encounters, each with mechanics the team must solve, ending in a final boss. A Crucible match is won by outscoring or eliminating the other team.

How do you win in Destiny 2?

Mode Team size How you win
Raid 6 players, no matchmaking Clear every encounter and defeat the final boss
Dungeon 3 players Clear the encounters and defeat the final boss
Control (Crucible) 6v6 First team to the score limit, earning points for kills and for holding the three zones
Trials of Osiris 3v3 Win rounds by wiping the other team or taking the late zone; first to five rounds wins the match
Gambit 4v4 Bank motes to summon your Primeval, then kill it before the other team kills theirs

Raid progress is saved at checkpoints after each encounter, so a group can split a long raid across nights before the weekly reset. Trials of Osiris runs on weekends, and since Monument of Triumph it alternates with Iron Banner, which now comes every four weeks. A Flawless Trials run means seven match wins in a row without a loss.

How does ranked or progression work?

Your main progression is power level and gear, plus Guardian Ranks, titles and seals. In PvP, Trials of Osiris is the closest thing to an endgame ladder, with rewards for win streaks and the Lighthouse for Flawless runs. You need a Guardian Rank of 5 or higher to use the in-game Fireteam Finder, which helps a lot when finding raid groups.

Beginner tips to win more

  • Pick one class and stick with it. Learning one set of abilities well beats spreading your time thin.
  • Check what you own. Many raids and dungeons need the matching expansion or a Dungeon Key, so confirm access first.
  • Use the Fireteam Finder. Look for groups labeled for learning or sherpa runs on your first raid.
  • Watch one guide per encounter. Knowing your role saves your group a lot of wipes.
  • Play objectives in PvP. In Control, holding zones matters as much as getting kills.
  • Stick with your team in Trials. Most rounds are lost by players fighting alone.
  • Build around one exotic. A clear build is easier to play and to improve.

How can Boosting Games help with Destiny 2?

Boosting Games offers fixed-price Destiny 2 services, all listed in the Destiny 2 services collection. The prices below are starting prices as of October 2026, and the exact price for the option you pick shows before checkout.

Service What you get Price

Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Flawless Help reaching a Flawless Trials run From $39

Honest risk note: Bungie's terms do not allow account sharing, and paid boosting can break a game's rules. Piloted orders, where a booster plays on your account, carry the most risk, and that matters most in Trials. Carries where you play in the fireteam yourself carry less, and coaching carries none. Read our account safety notice before you order. We never sell accounts, currency, items, cheats or mods.

Destiny 2 FAQ

Is Destiny 2 free to play?

Yes. The base game has been free to play since October 1, 2019 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Expansions, many raids and Dungeon Keys are paid. Destiny 2: The Collection, released June 9, 2026, bundles every campaign, expansion and Dungeon Key in one purchase, which is the simplest way to unlock everything.

Is Destiny 2 still being updated?

Bungie ended active development and released its final live-service content update, Monument of Triumph, on June 9, 2026. Bungie says the game will remain playable. That means no new seasons or expansions are planned, but the existing raids, dungeons, Crucible modes and Pantheon are still there to play as of October 2026.

How many players do you need for a raid?

A Destiny 2 raid is built for six players, and there is no matchmaking, so you need to form the group yourself. The in-game Fireteam Finder, open from Guardian Rank 5, and clans are the usual ways to find one. Dungeons are smaller and are designed for three players, which makes them a good step up before your first raid.

How do you win in Trials of Osiris?

Trials of Osiris is a three-versus-three elimination mode. You win a round by defeating the whole enemy team, or by capturing the zone that appears late in the round. The first team to five round wins takes the match. A Flawless card means seven match wins in a row with no losses.

What is the best mode for beginners?

Start with the campaigns and strikes, which teach your class and weapons with low pressure. In PvP, Control is the friendliest mode because you respawn and can score by holding zones. Save raids and Trials for when your build is set, and look for learning groups for your first raid.

Can you play Destiny 2 solo?

Yes, much of the game works solo, including campaigns, many missions and patrols. Some activities, like strikes and Crucible, use matchmaking, so you can join without a group. Raids have no matchmaking and need a full team of six, while dungeons are built for three but skilled players do solo them.
