R6 ranks in Siege X run Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond and Champion, each with five divisions from V (lowest) to I, for 40 ranks in total. Since Ranked 3.0 in June 2026, your Rank Points (RP) alone set your rank and matchmaking, and each season starts with 5 placement matches.

R6 ranks in order (Siege X)

Rainbow Six Siege X has eight rank tiers. Every tier has five divisions, and division V is the lowest, so Gold V sits below Gold I. Ranked 3.0 gave Champion its own five divisions too, which brings the ladder to 40 ranks.

Tier Divisions What it usually looks like Our price per division (piloted)
Copper V – I New players learning maps and operators $3
Bronze V – I Basic gunfights, little drone or utility use $3.5
Silver V – I Better aim, rotations still slow $4.5
Gold V – I The middle of the ladder; droning starts to matter $6.5
Platinum V – I Solid map knowledge and team setups $9
Emerald V – I Strong players; mistakes get punished $13
Diamond V – I Very high level, near-pro habits $20
Champion V – I The top of the ladder; leaderboard starts at Champion I Not sold

Prices are piloted rates at the time of writing and can change; the live total is always on the Rainbow Six Siege boosting page before you pay. Our climbs stop at Diamond I because Champion is a leaderboard rank.

What changed with Ranked 3.0?

Ubisoft launched Ranked 3.0 with Operation System Override (Year 11 Season 2) on June 2, 2026. The headline changes:

  • No more hidden MMR. Your Rank Points now decide both your visible rank and who you are matched with. What you see is what the game uses.
  • Five placement matches at the start of every season, with boosted RP gains.
  • A demotion shield that can leave you at 0 RP in a division instead of dropping you straight after a loss.
  • Squad restrictions on how far apart party members can be.
  • Champion divisions and a Legend division at the very top, with the featured leaderboard moved to Champion I.
  • A Competitive Rewards track: 2 points per win and 1 per loss, with a reward every 10 points.

If you read an older guide that talks about hidden MMR deciding your RP gains, it is describing the pre-June 2026 system.

How does RP work in R6 now?

After every ranked match you gain or lose Rank Points. The amount depends on the result and on how the two teams' ranks compare. Beat a higher-ranked team and you gain more; lose to a lower-ranked team and you lose more. The post-match screen shows the exact change, so you always know where you stand.

The demotion shield

When you lose a match that would drop you below a division, the shield can leave you sitting at 0 RP in your current division instead of ranking you down, as long as you started that match above 0 RP. Lose again from 0 and you drop. It gives you one buffer, not unlimited protection.

Rank rewards

Season-end rank rewards are tied to the highest rank you reached that season, even if you drop afterwards. That makes a late-season push worth it.

R6 placement matches and season starts

Every season now opens with 5 placement matches. They set your starting rank based on your results and give larger RP swings than normal games, and squad restrictions do not apply during placements. If you had a strong previous season, expect a sensible starting point rather than a drop to the bottom.

As of October 2026 the current season is Operation Split Fire (Year 11 Season 3), which launched on September 1, 2026. Our placement matches guide covers how placements work across games, and ranked reset dates tracks when the next season starts.

How to unlock Ranked in Siege X

  1. Reach the clearance level Ranked needs. That has long been level 50; check the requirement shown in the game, because Ubisoft adjusts access rules from time to time.
  2. Turn on two-step verification on your Ubisoft account. Ranked will not open without it.
  3. Pick your data center and stick to it, so your matches have stable ping.
  4. Play your 5 placements, ideally with a regular squad you trust.

Short on time to level? Our Siege X Ranked Unlock takes a new account to Ranked for $29, and clearance leveling runs from $12 for 10 levels. Read ranked unlock leveling for how this works in other games.

Who can you queue ranked with in R6?

Ranked 3.0 limits how far apart a party can be:

Your rank Allowed gap to teammates
Copper to Emerald Within 3 full ranks
Diamond and Champion Within 2 full ranks
Placement matches No squad restriction

This matters if you want to play with friends of different skill, and it shapes duo boosting too: in duo the booster has to be close enough in rank to queue with you, so we match the booster to your bracket.

Champion and the Legend division

Champion is the top tier, now split into five divisions, and the featured leaderboard starts at Champion I. From Year 11 Season 3, Ubisoft added the Legend division above it. To qualify you need Platinum or higher in Season 2 and Champion in Season 3, plus the R6ShieldGuard Secure Platform and app-based two-factor authentication. It is a small group of the very best players in each region, and we do not sell Champion or Legend.

How to climb R6 ranks faster

  • Drone before you peek. Information wins more Siege rounds than aim. Save one drone for the last 30 seconds.
  • Master two attackers and two defenders that fit your squad, rather than rotating through the whole roster.
  • Learn three maps from the ranked pool deeply and use your bans on the rest.
  • Play the clock on defense. You do not need kills; you need the attackers to run out of time.
  • Queue with a steady squad. Under Ranked 3.0 your RP is your matchmaking, so consistent teammates show up directly in your rank.
  • Stop after two losses. See how to stop tilting.

When an R6 boost or coaching makes sense

A climb is worth it when your rank is clearly below the way you play and you lack the hours to grind it back. Typical piloted prices at the time of writing:

  • Silver V to Gold V: $22.5.
  • Gold V to Platinum V: $32.5.
  • Platinum V to Emerald V: $45, or $67.5 in duo, where you play with the booster on your own account.
  • Single ranked wins start at $3 a game at Copper and Bronze and reach $11 a game at Diamond.

To get better yourself, coaching starts at $25 an hour, and Play With a Pro gives you a high-rank teammate for 1 hour ($19) or 3 hours ($49). Read duo boosting explained to compare.

Ubisoft's terms do not allow sharing your account, and Ubisoft can suspend accounts that break its rules. A piloted boost, where a booster logs in as you, carries real ban risk; duo is lower risk because you never share your login, and coaching does not touch your account. R6 ranks FAQ

How many ranks are there in R6 Siege X?

There are 40 ranks. Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond and Champion each have five divisions, from V (the lowest) to I. Ranked 3.0, launched in June 2026, split Champion into five divisions as well. From Year 11 Season 3 there is also a Legend division above Champion for a small group of top players.

What is the highest rank in Rainbow Six Siege?

Champion is the highest regular tier, with divisions V to I, and the featured leaderboard starts at Champion I. Above it sits the Legend division, added in Year 11 Season 3. Legend needs Platinum or higher in Season 2, Champion in Season 3, the R6ShieldGuard Secure Platform and app-based two-factor authentication.

How many placement matches are there in R6?

Five. Under Ranked 3.0, every season starts with 5 placement matches that set your starting rank. They give larger RP gains than normal games, and squad rank restrictions do not apply, so you can play placements with any friends. Your previous season's results help the game place you sensibly.

What level do you need to play ranked in R6?

Ranked has long unlocked at clearance level 50, and you also need two-step verification turned on for your Ubisoft account. Check the requirement shown in the game before you plan around it, because Ubisoft adjusts access rules from time to time. Levels come from playing Quick Match, Unranked and challenges.

Does R6 still use hidden MMR?

No. Ranked 3.0 removed hidden MMR in June 2026. Your Rank Points now decide both your visible rank and your matchmaking, and RP gains depend on the match result and on how the two teams' ranks compare. Older guides that describe hidden MMR are covering the previous system.

Who can I queue ranked with in R6?

From Copper to Emerald, everyone in your party must be within 3 full ranks of each other. At Diamond and Champion the limit is 2 full ranks. Placement matches have no squad restriction. If a friend is too far above or below you, the game will not let you queue ranked together.
