Ranked reset dates as of October 2026: Valorant Act 5 began August 18, League of Legends Season 3 began July 29, Overwatch Season 5 began October 6, and Apex Legends Split 2 began September 15. Most publishers announce the next reset only a week or two ahead, so several end dates are not confirmed yet.
How we checked these ranked reset dates
Every date below was checked against official patch notes or publisher news where possible, and otherwise against reputable games press, in the second week of October 2026. Where a publisher has not announced a date, we say so instead of guessing. Season lengths are fairly regular, so we note the usual rhythm, but treat any "expected" date as a pattern, not a promise.
A quick glossary, because every game names things differently. A season, act or split is a ranked period with its own rewards. A reset is what happens to your rank when a new period starts: anything from a full wipe to a small drop of a few divisions. Your hidden matchmaking rating usually survives a reset, which is why good players climb back quickly.
Ranked reset dates by game (October 2026)
Here is the state of play as of October 9, 2026. "Not announced" means the publisher had not published a date when we checked.

Deadlock is a special case: Valve relaunched ranked with a new 11-rank ladder on July 30, 2026, and has not announced any season end. We could not verify current dates for PUBG: Battlegrounds or Dota 2, so they are left out rather than guessed.
When does the ranked season end in Valorant, League and TFT?
Valorant. Riot runs six acts a year. Patch 13.00 on June 23 opened Act 4 and patch 13.04 on August 18 opened Act 5, so 2026 acts have been running about eight weeks each. Riot had not announced the Act 6 date when we checked; if the rhythm holds, expect it around mid-to-late October, but wait for the patch notes. League of Legends. 2026 has three ranked seasons. Season 2 ended at 23:59 local server time on July 28, Riot said LP and ranked progress would carry over, and Ranked Season 3 opened at 12pm local server time on July 29 with patch 26.15. Riot has not given an end date for Season 3. Its published patch calendar has the last 2026 patch, 26.24, on December 9, so expect the season to wrap up around the end of the year. TFT. Each new set starts a fresh ranked ladder. Set 18 went live on August 26, and Riot's schedule puts Set 19 (patch 19.1) on December 1, 2026, Pacific time. Riot notes patch dates can move and it warns players within 48 hours of a delay.
Overwatch, Marvel Rivals and Apex season end dates
Overwatch. Season 5 of Reign of Talon, "A Grim Doctrine", started October 6, 2026. Season 4 ran from August 11 to October 6, about eight weeks, which is the normal length this year. No end date has been announced for Season 5 yet.
Marvel Rivals. Season 10 launched September 11, 2026. Each new season moves returning players down a few divisions from where they finished. The Season 10.5 date had not been announced when we checked.
Apex Legends. Season 30 began August 4, 2026, and Split 2 started September 15 at 10am PT, worldwide at the same moment. Starting a new split resets your placement window. EA had not announced Season 31; seasons have averaged around three months, which would point to November.
CS2, Rainbow Six, Rocket League, Call of Duty and the rest
Counter-Strike 2. Premier Season 5 started in July 2026 and reset everyone's CS Rating, so players had to win placement matches again. Valve does not publish Premier end dates in advance.
Rainbow Six Siege X. Y11S3 Operation Split Fire launched September 1, 2026. Most players got a soft reset to 300 RP at launch, and a new solo-queue Legend division was planned for mid-season. Ubisoft had not dated Y11S4.
Rocket League. Season 24 launched in September 2026 (Psyonix published the Season 24 patch notes on September 21). Each playlist (1v1, 2v2, 3v3) keeps its own rank.
Black Ops 7 and Warzone. Season 06 began September 17, 2026. Treyarch called it the final season of Black Ops 7 Ranked Play and described it as a three-week sprint, so if BO7 rank rewards matter to you, the window is short.
Battlefield 6. EA has confirmed Season 5 for October 13, 2026, with Ranked battle royale content rolling out during the season.
Mobile Legends and Hearthstone. MLBB Season 42 runs September 16 to December 16, 2026, per the in-game countdown. Hearthstone runs a new ranked season every month, with a Star Bonus based on your previous best rank to speed up the re-climb.
What happens to your rank at a reset?
Resets come in three flavors, and it helps to know which one your game uses:

Placement matches matter more than any other games of the season, because a good run can skip several divisions. If you are short on time, our placement matches guide explains how they work in each game.
What to do before the ranked season ends
- Check reward rules. Most games pay season rewards on your final or peak rank, and some need a minimum number of ranked games played that season.
- Do not start a big climb in the last days. Queues get crowded and a climb that runs past the reset may not count toward this season's rewards.
- Book early if you want help. Booster availability drops near the end of a season. Standard speed is enough if you start a couple of weeks out.
- Plan your placements. Rest before placements and play them in one or two focused sessions.

Riot had not announced the Act 6 start date when we checked on October 9, 2026. End-of-season rewards are based on your final rank, so check the client for the exact cut-off once Riot posts it.
When does the Overwatch season end?
Overwatch Season 5, A Grim Doctrine, started on October 6, 2026, and Blizzard had not announced an end date when we checked. Seasons this year have run about eight weeks; Season 4 ran from August 11 to October 6. Blizzard usually confirms the next season start in its news posts shortly before launch.
When is the next Apex Legends ranked reset?
Apex Legends Season 30 Split 2 began September 15, 2026, so the next reset will come with Season 31. EA had not announced Season 31 when we checked. Seasons have averaged around three months, which points to November, but wait for the official announcement before planning around it.
Do you lose your rank at a ranked reset?
It depends on the game. CS2 Premier makes you win placement matches again at a new season, Rainbow Six Siege X applied a soft reset to 300 RP for most players in Y11S3, and League of Legends kept LP and ranked progress when Season 3 began in July. In nearly every game your hidden matchmaking rating survives, so you tend to land close to where your skill is.
Why are some reset dates missing?
Publishers usually announce the next season only a week or two ahead, and some, like Valve, do not publish Premier season dates in advance at all. We only list dates we could verify from official notes or reputable reporting. When a date is not announced, we say so rather than guess, and we update the guide as dates are confirmed.
