Diablo IV is a dark fantasy action RPG from Blizzard Entertainment on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. You pick a class, finish the campaign, then chase loot in an endless endgame. Winning means reaching level 70, building Paragon power, clearing higher Pit tiers to unlock Torment difficulties and completing each season's goals.

What is the objective of Diablo IV?
The first objective is the campaign: follow the story, stop the threat to Sanctuary and unlock the open world in full. After that the real game begins, which is building the strongest version of your character.
A typical session means picking an endgame activity, killing monsters, collecting loot, then tuning your skills, gear and Paragon board. Each upgrade lets you push a harder difficulty, where the rewards are better, so the loop keeps going.
How do you win in Diablo IV?
Diablo IV has an ending for its story, but no end to its endgame. Winning means reaching the goals you care about, from finishing the campaign to clearing a high Pit tier. The table sums up the main ones.
The world difficulty runs Normal, Hard, Expert and Penitent, then Torment I to XII. Normal and Hard are open from the start, and each Torment tier unlocks by clearing a set Pit tier, ending with Pit 100 for Torment XII.
| Goal or mode | Group size | What counts as winning |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign | Solo or party | Finishing the story of the base game and each expansion |
| Level 70 and Paragon | Solo or party | Hitting the level cap, then building Paragon levels to power up your build |
| The Pit | Solo or party | Clearing a timed Pit tier; higher clears unlock Torment I to XII |
| Torment difficulties | Solo or party | Farming comfortably on the highest Torment tier your build can handle |
| Bosses and Lairs | Solo or party | Defeating endgame bosses for the uniques your build needs |
| Seasons | Solo or party | Completing the season journey and seasonal questline on a fresh character |
There is also open-world PvP in marked areas for players who want it, but most players spend their time in PvE.
How does progression work?
Diablo IV has no ranked ladder. Progress is your level, your Paragon board, your gear and the difficulty you can handle. Leveling to 70 comes first, then Paragon points unlock nodes, glyphs and legendary bonuses that make builds come together.
The Pit is the main measuring stick in the endgame, because clearing higher tiers opens higher Torment difficulties and levels your glyphs. Our Diablo 4 leveling and Pit guide covers the fastest routes to 70, Paragon and Pit pushing.
Beginner tips to win more
- Play the campaign once. After that you can skip it on new characters.
- Raise the difficulty when enemies melt. Higher tiers give much more experience and loot.
- Follow a build guide. A tested build saves hours of trial and error.
- Upgrade your weapon first. Weapon damage drives most builds early on.
- Group up. Even one friend speeds up clears and leveling.
- Use the loot filter. It is free for all players and keeps junk off your screen.
- Do seasonal objectives. They point you at the activities that matter most that season.

Diablo IV FAQ
Is Diablo IV free to play?
No. Diablo IV is a paid game on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and its expansions, Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred, are sold separately. Some features are free for all players, such as the reworked skill trees and the loot filter added alongside Lord of Hatred. The newest classes, Paladin and Warlock, come with the expansion.
What is the max level in Diablo IV?
The level cap is 70 as of October 2026. It rose from 60 when Lord of Hatred launched on April 28, 2026. After 70 you keep earning Paragon levels, which give points for the Paragon boards. Those boards are where most builds gain their biggest boosts, so the endgame is really about Paragon and gear.
How do Torment difficulties unlock?
Normal and Hard are open from the start, Expert unlocks after the prologue and Penitent after the campaign, or straight away for returning seasonal players. Torment I to XII unlock by clearing the Pit, starting with tier 10 for Torment I and ending with tier 100 for Torment XII. Higher Torment tiers give more experience, gold and better drops.
What is a season in Diablo IV?
A season is a limited-time event that starts everyone on the seasonal realm with a fresh character. Each season adds its own mechanic, questline and rewards. Season 15, Hell's Legacy, began on September 15, 2026 and brings back Deckard Cain and the Prime Evils Diablo, Baal and Mephisto. Characters on the eternal realm are not affected.
Which class is best for beginners?
There is no single best class, because balance shifts each season. Pick the fantasy you enjoy most, then follow a current build guide for that class. Ranged classes can feel safer while you learn boss patterns, and tankier melee classes forgive mistakes. You can level a second class later, since seasons give a natural fresh start.
Does Boosting Games sell gold or items for Diablo IV?
No. We never sell gold, items or accounts. Our Diablo IV services cover the campaign, power leveling to 70, Paragon leveling, Pit carries and boss kills. Any loot comes from the game itself and stays on your own character. Read our account safety notice before choosing between a piloted order and playing alongside a booster.
