Apex Legends ranks go Rookie, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master and Apex Predator. Every tier above Rookie has four divisions, IV to I. You climb by earning Ranked Points (RP): each match charges an entry cost, and your placement and eliminations earn RP back. Predator is the top 750 Master players on each platform.

What are the Apex Legends ranks in order?

As of October 2026 (Season 30, Split 2) the Apex Legends ranked ladder has eight tiers. From lowest to highest:

  1. Rookie (an introductory tier; once you leave it you can't drop back)
  2. Bronze IV to I
  3. Silver IV to I
  4. Gold IV to I
  5. Platinum IV to I
  6. Diamond IV to I
  7. Master (no divisions)
  8. Apex Predator (the top 750 Master players on each platform)

Each division is a block of Ranked Points. When your RP passes the next threshold you move up a division. Ranks are tracked per platform, so your PC rank and your PlayStation rank are separate. PS4 and PS5 count as one platform.

The table below pulls the key numbers from EA's own ranked help page into one place.

Tier Divisions RP per division Entry cost per match Aura colour
Rookie 1 250 0 RP Gray
Bronze IV–I 500 10 RP Bronze
Silver IV–I 500 (750 to reach Gold IV) 20 RP Silver
Gold IV–I 750 38 RP Gold
Platinum IV–I 750, then 1,000 from Plat II 48 RP Teal
Diamond IV–I 1,000 65 RP Blue
Master None Open-ended 90 RP Purple
Apex Predator None Top 750 per platform 90 RP Red

Two things jump out. The entry cost climbs fast, from 10 RP in Bronze to 65 in Diamond and 90 in Master. And the divisions get longer from Platinum II up. That combination is why so many players feel stuck in Platinum and Diamond: every bad game costs more, and every division takes more good games to clear.

How does Apex ranked RP work?

Every ranked match works like a small bet. You pay the entry cost for your tier when the match starts, then earn RP back from three sources:

Placement

Your team's finish out of 20 squads. Higher finishes pay more. EA says you get your entry cost back if you finish in the top half of the lobby; finish lower and you can end the match with less RP than you started with.

Eliminations

Kills and assists both count, and each one is worth more the higher your team places. A participation (your team kills someone you didn't damage) counts as half a kill. After eight eliminations, each extra one is worth half. Heals and revives earn no RP directly, but they keep you alive for placement, which matters more.

Bonuses

Killing a higher-ranked player adds 15% for one tier above you, 25% for two, 35% for three and 50% for four or more. There is also a top-five streak: 10, 20, 30 and then 40 RP for consecutive top-five finishes, with every top-five after that paying 40 until you miss.

The practical takeaway: kills only pay well when you also place well. A ten-kill game that ends in 15th is often worth less than a quiet fourth place. Our Apex ranked tips guide goes deeper on playing for RP.

How do you unlock ranked in Apex Legends?

New players under level 20 must finish all three sets of Road to Ranked challenges before the Ranked playlist opens. Players who already had ranked access before Road to Ranked launched keep it.

There are no provisional placement matches any more. Your starting tier comes from your hidden matchmaking rating (MMR). For a brand-new ranked player, EA uses your Unranked Trios MMR, so the way you play casual matches does shape where you start.

Ranked also needs you to be on an EA account linked to your platform. If you play on more than one platform, remember each one has its own rank and its own climb.

How do splits and rank resets work in Season 30?

Each Apex season has two ranked splits, and each split resets your RP. Season 30, called Marked, launched on August 4, 2026, and Split 2 began on September 15, 2026. Seasons have averaged about three months, but EA had not confirmed the Season 31 date at the time of writing, so check the in-game timer.

At the start of Split 2, EA moves you down based on where you finished Split 1:

Split 1 rank Split 2 starting rank Starting RP
Bronze IV–I Bronze IV 1,000
Silver IV–I Silver IV 3,250 (+250 demotion protection)
Gold IV–I Gold IV 5,750 (+250 demotion protection)
Platinum IV–I Platinum IV 8,750 (+250 demotion protection)
Diamond IV–III Platinum III 9,250
Diamond II–I Platinum II 10,000
Master and Predator Platinum I 11,000

Season-end rewards use your highest rank from either split. If you match or beat your Split 1 rank in Split 2, the badge is animated. That is a real reason to keep playing after the reset rather than parking your account. For reset dates across every game we cover, see our ranked reset dates guide.

What is the difference between Master and Apex Predator?

Master is a single open-ended tier. Once you reach it there are no more divisions; your RP just keeps counting up. Apex Predator is not a separate RP threshold. It is a live leaderboard: the 750 Master players with the most RP on each platform hold Predator, and the list changes as people play.

That is why Predator can't honestly be promised by anyone. Your spot depends on what 750 other people do that day. We sell climbs up to Master and do not sell Predator.

Apex also runs weekly Ranked Ladders: short leaderboards of up to 100 players. In Season 30 EA extended them to five days. You need five ranked matches and cross-play on to join, and rewards go by your bracket (top 10%, 10–30%, 30–50%, bottom 50%).

How do you rank up faster in Apex Legends?

You don't need perfect aim to climb. You need to stop paying entry costs for nothing. The short version:

  1. Play for top half first. Finishing in the top ten gets your entry cost back. Every game where you hot-drop and die early costs you the full entry cost.
  2. Take fights you can finish. Kills pay more the higher you place, so third-partying a weakened squad late is worth more than an even fight early.
  3. Know the map pool. In Season 30 ranked rotates World's Edge, Storm Point and E-District every 4.5 hours. Learn one strong landing spot and a rotation for each.
  4. Pick a composition with a plan. Recon and movement legends help you rotate early. Season 30 buffed Bloodhound, Loba and Rampart and nerfed Valkyrie, Axle and Seer.
  5. Queue with people you trust. A steady trio beats three random solos almost every time.

If you keep losing the same fights, an hour of play with a pro duo time or coaching often fixes more than another fifty solo games. Our coaching vs boosting guide compares the two honestly.

How much does an Apex Legends rank boost cost?

If you would rather have a high-rank player help, here is what our Apex rank boosts cost per division (piloted, at the time of writing). Duo, where you play on your own account with the booster, costs 1.5× the piloted price.

Tier Per division (piloted) Full tier (4 divisions) Per win (piloted)
Bronze $4 $16 $3
Silver $5 $20 $4
Gold $7 $28 $5
Platinum $12 $48 $7
Diamond $24 $96 $12

Example: Platinum IV to Diamond IV is four divisions at $12, so $48 piloted, or $72 in duo. At Platinum to Diamond one division usually takes about 1–3 days because matches are long and RP gains vary. We also offer damage and kill badges from $9 and battle pass levels from $12. See every option on the Apex Legends boosting page.

Honest risk note: EA's rules say never to share your login, and EA treats buying boosts through third parties as against its User Agreement. A piloted boost, where a booster logs in to your account, carries a real risk of penalties. Duo carries less because you keep your login, and coaching carries none. Read how we handle account safety and our guide on whether boosting is bannable before you decide.

How does an Apex boost order work?

You see the full price before you pay. A vetted, ID-verified booster picks up the order, and you follow every match through screenshots and messages on a private order page. For piloted orders your login is only entered after payment, stored encrypted and deleted when the order ends. Please stay signed out of your account while the order runs; if something urgent comes up, message us from your order page. If we can't finish an order for a reason on our side, we refund the part we didn't deliver. The full process is on how it works.

Apex Legends ranks FAQ

What is the most common rank in Apex Legends?

EA does not publish an official rank distribution, so treat any exact percentage you see online with caution. Community trackers consistently show most ranked players sitting in Silver, Gold and Platinum, with Diamond and above a small minority. Because Split 2 resets push players down, distributions also shift a lot through each split, so a rank that looks rare in week one is common by week six.

How much RP do you need for Diamond in Apex?

Platinum IV to Diamond IV takes 3,500 RP: 750 RP each for Plat IV and III, then 1,000 RP each for Plat II and I. You also pay a 48 RP entry cost every Platinum match, so a run of bottom-half finishes can wipe out a good game. Players usually find Platinum the hardest stretch of the ladder for exactly this reason.

Can you derank in Apex Legends?

Yes. If your RP drops below the start of your current division, you fall back a division, because each match charges an entry cost and bottom-half finishes do not refund it. The exceptions are Rookie, which you cannot drop back into once you leave, and the 250 RP demotion buffer EA adds to Silver, Gold and Platinum players when Split 2 starts.

What level do you need to play ranked in Apex?

New players under level 20 must complete all three sets of Road to Ranked challenges before ranked opens. Players who had ranked access before that system launched keep it. Your starting rank then comes from your hidden matchmaking rating, which for brand-new ranked players is based on your Unranked Trios games.

How many players are Apex Predator?

Apex Predator is the top 750 Master players by RP on each platform, according to EA. It is a live leaderboard, so players move in and out as they win and lose RP. That is why no honest service can promise Predator; Boosting Games sells climbs up to Master only.

When does the next Apex ranked split start?

Season 30 Split 2 began on September 15, 2026. The next full reset arrives with Season 31. EA had not confirmed that date at the time of writing (October 2026), and seasons have run about three months, so expect it around early November and check the in-game season timer for the exact time.
