Genshin Impact 7.1 is the sixth anniversary update, released September 22 and 23, 2026. It expands Snezhnaya, the region that opened in version 7.0 on August 12, 2026, continues the Archon Quest and adds Vesna and Vodyanitsa. Spiral Abyss, Imaginarium Theater and Stygian Onslaught are the rotating endgame modes.
What does Snezhnaya add?
Snezhnaya, the long-awaited icy region, opened with version 7.0 on August 12, 2026, and 7.1 expanded both the map and the Archon Quest. Exploring a new region means chests, Oculi, waypoints, puzzles and world quests, and it raises your Adventure Rank along the way. This is as of October 2026.
What is in the 7.1 anniversary update?
Version 7.1 launched on September 22 for America servers and September 23 for others. As the sixth anniversary update, it came with anniversary events and rewards on top of the new story content and the characters Vesna and Vodyanitsa. Events are time-limited, so check the in-game calendar.
If you took a break, the anniversary period is a good time to come back: login rewards and events add up quickly, and the new region gives plenty of exploration rewards for players at any Adventure Rank. Catch up on the earlier Archon Quest chapters first, because the new story builds on them.
How do the three endgame modes work?

- Explore new areas early for Primogems from chests and quests.
- Raise Adventure Rank to unlock higher World Levels and better rewards.
- Build a few strong teams rather than many half-built characters.
- Clear each endgame mode every reset for steady rewards.

Is it safe to let someone play my Genshin account?
