Albion Online is a free-to-play sandbox MMORPG from Sandbox Interactive, playable on PC, mobile and Xbox. There are no classes and no ending: your gear decides your role, players craft nearly everything, and risky zones use full loot. You win by clearing dungeons, beating players in fights and growing your character.
What is Albion Online?
Albion Online is a free-to-play sandbox MMORPG from Sandbox Interactive, a studio in Berlin. It plays in a top-down view and runs on one shared world per server, whether you join from PC, phone or Xbox.
Two ideas make it different from most MMOs. First, there are no classes: the gear you wear decides your skills, so swapping a sword for a staff changes your whole role. Second, almost every item is made by players, and in the more dangerous zones whoever kills you can loot everything you carried.

What is the objective of Albion Online?
Albion has no story ending. The goal is to grow stronger and richer in a world shaped by other players. You earn fame by fighting, gathering, crafting and more, and that fame unlocks higher item tiers on the Destiny Board, the game's progression chart.
A session can be a gathering trip, a dungeon run, a few arena matches or a guild fight. The risk depends on the zone: blue zones are the safest, yellow zones allow some PvP without full loot, while red zones and the black-zone Outlands are full-loot areas with the best rewards.
How do you win in Albion Online?
You cannot finish Albion, so winning means coming out ahead in the activity you choose: beating a dungeon, winning a fight, making profit on the market or helping your guild hold territory. The main modes and their win conditions are below.
| Mode | Team size | How you win |
|---|---|---|
| Arena | 5v5, at least one healer each | Each team starts with 150 points; capturing zones and kills drain the enemy's points, and the first team to hit 0 loses |
| Corrupted Dungeons | Solo, with possible 1v1 invasions | Earn Infamy, beat the final boss and claim its loot, or defeat an invader |
| Hellgates | 2v2 or 5v5 | Clear the minibosses and boss, then survive the fight with the other team to take all the loot |
| Dragon Sanctuary | Organised group | Defeat the boss Maeve and then Azaryon, the Fire Dragon |
| Territory and castle fights | Guilds and alliances | Take and hold land in large ZvZ battles |
Gear matters, but in Albion knowing when to fight and when to leave often decides who wins. Because you can lose what you carry, a good player brings gear they can afford to lose.
How does progression work?
Progress lives on the Destiny Board. Each weapon, armour piece and gathering tool has its own mastery and specialization line, and raising them lifts your Item Power with that gear. Combat fame is the main fuel, and our Albion Online fame farming guide covers the fastest ways to earn it.
Corrupted Dungeons track Infamy, which shows your place in the rankings and opens harder tiers. For the newest PvE content, our Dragonfire update guide explains the Dragon Sanctuary and Azaryon.
Beginner tips to win more
- Only risk what you can replace. Full loot is the core rule, so bring spare sets.
- Stay in blue and yellow zones at first. Learn your build before entering red or black zones.
- Focus one weapon line. Specializing one weapon beats spreading fame thin.
- Join a guild. Groups make dungeons, gathering trips and territory far easier.
- Use the market. Buying gear from crafters is often cheaper than making it yourself.
- Watch your escape options. Mounts and escape spells save more silver than extra damage.
- Try the Arena. Short 5v5 matches are a structured way to practise team PvP.

Please read our account safety notice before you order. We never sell accounts, in-game currency, items, cheats or mods.

Albion Online FAQ
Is Albion Online free to play?
Yes. Albion Online has been free to play since 2019 on PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android and, since April 2026, Xbox Series X|S. Premium is optional, and you can buy it with in-game silver or gold instead of real money, so a patient free player can get it without paying.
What does full loot mean in Albion Online?
Full loot means that if another player kills you in a full-loot zone, they can take everything you were wearing and carrying. Red zones and the black-zone Outlands follow this rule. Blue zones are mostly safe, and yellow-zone PvP knocks you down without full loot. That is why experienced players carry gear they can afford to lose.
Does Albion Online have classes?
No. Albion uses a classless system where your equipment sets your abilities. A weapon, helmet, chest armour and shoes each give different skills, so changing gear changes your role. You can be a healer one hour and a tank the next. Progress is tracked per item line on the Destiny Board rather than for one class.
Can you play Albion Online solo?
Yes. Gathering, crafting, solo dungeons, Corrupted Dungeons and many open-world activities work well alone. Some of the best rewards, such as the Dragon Sanctuary, territory fights and 5v5 Hellgates, need a group, so joining a guild opens much more content. Many solo players gather and trade, then sell to players who group up.
How does the Arena work?
The Arena is a 5v5 match where each team must bring at least one healer. Both teams start with 150 points. You lose 10 points when the enemy captures one of three zones and 1 point each time a teammate dies, and the first team to reach 0 loses. Short, structured matches like this are a good place to learn team PvP.
Does Boosting Games sell silver or accounts?
No. We never sell silver, gold, items or accounts. Our Albion services cover fame farming, mastery and specialization leveling, Corrupted Dungeon Infamy, Dragon Sanctuary runs, Arena wins and coaching. Any loot comes from the game itself. Coaching is the option that keeps your login entirely with you, and it helps you improve for the long run.
