This Wardogs roles guide in short: there are six roles, Assault, Medic, Recon, Support, Driver and Pilot, and each one levels separately and unlocks its own gear. After the Season 2 wipe on October 15, 2026, level the role you enjoy most first, then add Medic or a vehicle role your squad lacks.
How do roles work in Wardogs?
Wardogs has no single player level. Instead, each of its six roles levels on its own as you play it in real matches, and higher levels unlock that role's weapons and gear. Money earned in matches is what you spend on that gear, so a role you have levelled but cannot afford to equip is not much help. Everything here is as of October 2026, in Early Access.
What does each role do?
| Role | Main job | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Assault | Front-line fighting and pushing objectives | Players who want action |
| Medic | Healing and reviving the squad | Keeping a push alive |
| Recon | Scouting and long-range picks | Spotting the other two teams |
| Support | Ammo, building and suppressing fire | Holding the zone |
| Driver | Ground vehicles and transport | Moving squads fast |
| Pilot | Helicopters and air support | Changing fights from above |
Which role should you level first after the wipe?
Start with the role you enjoy, because you will play it the most. If you have no favourite, Assault or Medic is the safest start: both are useful in every match and earn steady progress. Once that role is comfortable, add a second role your usual squad lacks. Many squads are short on Medics and confident Pilots.
Are Pilot and Driver worth levelling?
Yes, if your squad uses them. Vehicles move people across big maps and can swing a three-team fight, but they also take practice. A crashed helicopter wastes money and time. Practising flight and driving with a patient teammate, or in a lesson, saves a lot of frustration. Our Season 2 guide explains the wider basics.
What does a balanced squad look like?
- Two Assault players to push.
- One Medic to keep pushes alive.
- One Support or Recon depending on the map.
- A Driver or Pilot when the squad has vehicles available.
Squads that keep roles steady from match to match level faster, because everyone earns progress in the role they are building.
Talk about money too. Because every purchase comes from match earnings, a squad that agrees who buys vehicles and who saves for weapons gets more out of each round. A Pilot with no money for a helicopter is just another rifleman, so plan purchases as a team, especially early in Season 2 when everyone starts from scratch.
How do you level roles without risking a ban?
Play real matches on normal servers. Bulkhead has warned that accounts on coordinated XP farm servers can be permanently banned, and later seasons may reset progress again anyway. Real matches also teach you the maps and the economy, which matter more than levels in a three-team game.
What does Wardogs role help cost?
Boosting Games sells fixed-price Wardogs services. Prices below are the starting prices at the time of writing (October 2026), and the exact price for your option shows before checkout. Every service is listed on the Wardogs services collection.
| Service | What you get | How you play | Price | Typical time |

Honest risk note: We found no published Wardogs rule naming boosting. Bulkhead has warned that accounts staying on coordinated XP farm servers can be permanently banned, so we only play real matches on normal servers. Self-play and coaching keep your login with you and carry less risk than piloted orders. Read our account safety notice before you order. We never sell Cash, gold bars, unlocks as items, accounts, cheats or exploits, and we never use XP farm servers. All progress comes from real matches.

Wardogs FAQ
How many roles are in Wardogs?
There are six roles: Assault, Medic, Recon, Support, Driver and Pilot. Each one levels on its own as you play it in matches, and each level unlocks gear for that role. You buy that gear with money earned during matches.
What is the best role in Wardogs?
There is no single best role. Assault and Medic are useful in every match and good for new players. Pilot and Driver can change fights but need practice. The best choice is the role your squad lacks and you enjoy playing.
Does the Season 2 wipe reset roles?
Yes. Season 2 starts on October 15, 2026, and Bulkhead has said ranks, weapon unlocks and cosmetics earned since launch will be wiped. That includes role progress, so plan to level your roles again in Season 2.
How do I get better at flying in Wardogs?
Practise in quieter moments, start with transport flights before attack runs, and fly with a patient squad that calls targets. A lesson with an experienced pilot can shortcut a lot of crashes. Crashing costs money and time, so slow and steady beats bold early on.
Can you level my Wardogs role for me?
We level roles only in real matches on normal servers, either with you in your squad or piloted on your account. Piloted means sharing your Steam login, which carries risk, so squad sessions are the lower-risk choice. We never sell Cash, gold bars or accounts.
